Had a very comfortable sleep yesterday night. The weather was not as cold as the first night. Fell asleep almost right away when I closed my eyes. Woke up at around 6:45 A.M and started washing up. After everyone was ready, proceed to the canteen to have breakfast. Ordered fried noodles, soya bean and a bun. Didn’t really manage to finish the food as it was just too oily. The locals seemed to like cooking their food with a lot of oil, and seasoning.
After that, proceeded to our classroom with our own laptops. Reached the classroom at around 8:05A.M and went to find our seats. Unfortunately, the PC on the seat which I was seating on, was not working. Therefore, switched to another seat all the way at the back of the classroom. However, the PC there was also not working. What’s worse was that in our classroom, our laptops were not able to use the internet connection. I felt that the equipment in Singapore schools were much better and durable. Luckily today we were only having informal lesson. Besides we only need to present our powerpoint slides on the history of Singapore. Had been busy with the preparation for this powerpoint presentation days before coming to Wuhan. Through this assignment, I knew more about Singapore which I did not know about. Especially Singapore in its early days. After our group had presented, we were released for lunch which lasted from 12 to 2.
Did not eat lunch. Went back to dorm to get basketball and went to the basketball court to play basketball. Not really comfortable playing in China as I was not used to playing and exercising in the cold. At around 1:30P.M, went to canteen for a drink and proceeded back to our classroom for our afternoon lesson. On our way there, I noticed that actually many Chinese liked the sport basketball as well. The courts near our classroom block were nearly full with Chinese students playing basketball. I guessed their “National Treasure” NBA star Yao Ming had a great influence over them.
During the afternoon lesson, we were briefed on what to do for our IS module. My group had to do a report on China’s education system and also a photo essay on faces. These topics were not easy and I guessed we would be busy in a while’s time. We planned what areas we were going to focus on before we were dismissed from class.
Went back to the dorm and started using my laptop. Went out for dinner at around 7:20P.M. At the canteen, I ordered for food and requested for less oil. The hawker nodded her head and smiled at me as if she acknowledged my request. However, after that, she did not say anything to the cook and just stood there, waiting for other customers. When my food arrived, it was still oily. I was not surprised at all as I had already expected it. Finished the food and went to Mr Ma’s room for briefing for the next day. Mr Chua gave out our sim cards. A safety briefing was conducted in case we get missing tomorrow. After the briefing, went back to the dorm, typed this journal and planned to read a magazine I bought from a roadside stall later on.
Man talking on cellphone in a drain. LOL
