DAY FOURTEEN!

The industrial area was very big. Was circling in the industrial area for around half and hour before reaching our factory. At the steel factory, we had to wear safety helmets for safety reasons. We walked through the factory and witnessed the process of steel making. Firstly, the steel material is heated till a very high temperature that they seemed to be in the molten state. Next, they were transported on a conveyer belt to a machine that will spray huge amounts of water to cool the steel down. Following on, many different machines pounded the steel into a cubic shape. Later on, the steel is sent to a machine that turns it into one whole coil of steel before it is being cut into different segments. To my surprise, the factory was actually quite high-tech. It had CCTV cameras everywhere.

After the visit to the factory, which lasted for only less than half and hour, we began our journey back to school. In my opinion, it was quite ridiculous because we spent like 2 hours travelling to the factory. Yet we only stayed there for less than half hour before we had to make our way back again. So in total, we spent 4 hours travelling to and fro.

On our return journey, the bus driver tried to take a short cut route by driving through an alley and through a village. It was actually quite weird, driving a bus through an alley. But, who cares? I think to the Chinese, as long as there are roads, no matter wide or narrow, they believe its okay to drive there. After about half an hour of driving, there was a road work under operation and we had to turn all the way back, drive out of the village and alley and back onto the main road. This totally wasted so much of our time. What’s more, the driver even drove in the wrong direction. It was only after he was reminded by our lecturer, then he made a U-turn to drive in the direction of our destination.

After a very long bus journey, alighted at Guang Gu Shopping Centre. Bought a very gigantic burger for only 6RMB. It tasted somewhat like McSpicy but it was a lot better than McSpicy. After that, took taxi back to WUST. Rested for awhile before going for lesson at 3P.M. Did APPG.
